The Louisiana Legislature will convene on Monday, March 14, 2016 for the 2016 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature. State lawmakers will remain in session until June 6, 2016. We are fortunate to have many allies among the 144 state lawmakers. We have established friendships with state lawmakers through the contacts of our lobbyist Kevin Hayes and executive director Cindy Bishop. Additionally, we are fortunate to have many psychologists who have personal relationships with state legislators.
LPA PAC sincerely appreciates your involvement and your financial support of our political action committee. Money is the lifeblood of politics. However, various special interest groups all contribute generously to their established political action committees (PACs), with the hope of influencing legislators to influence laws to expand their scope of practice through the enactment of laws.
If we are going to continue to be successful in the halls of the Louisiana State Capitol, it is imperative that all psychologists contribute to the LPA PAC. Our goal for 2015 is to collect at a minimum, a one-hundred ($100) donation from half of the Psychologists licensed in the state of Louisiana. You can now donate via credit card using our secure website at www.louisianapsychologist.org
Please bear in mind that state lawmakers have:
•The authority to expand scope of practice for persons not licensed to practice psychology
•The authority to govern how and when insurance companies pay us for our services rendered to patients.
Please donate today so that we are in the financial position to help support our friends in the legislative arena.
If you would prefer to mail a check, make it payable to LPA PAC and mail it to :
